‘Mimesis (where blue birds fly)’ was part of the ‘Vessel’ collection of work made in 2015. ‘Mimesis’ built upon an oeuvre of images concerned with the conception, birthing and rebirthing of forms; of selves.

‘Mimesis’ signifies change, growth and a state of constant evolution. The happy trinity of blue birds nestle on her neck, shoulder and solar plexus; large bulbous waratahs adorn her hair as she stares hopefully towards a new horizon.
